Pixel Sleuths
2,000 on-chain pixel detectives on Robinhood Chain. Crack a case and recruit one for free: every case is a riddle that points to a viral post, an NFT website, a smart contract, a record sale, a Loot bag, a CryptoPunk, an mfer or a Noun. Not in the mood for detective work? Hire one for 0.001 ETH. One sleuth per wallet.
The case calendar
2,000 cases, one per sleuth, filed in 41 volumes of 49. Open cases are lit up. Read the riddle, dig through X, Etherscan, NFT websites, the news and on-chain art, then type the code. The first detective to crack a case recruits a sleuth for free. Cracked cases get circled in red marker and their answers are revealed.

Hire a sleuth
Skip the detective work and hire one straight away. Ids are drawn at random from the sleuths still at the agency, so nobody can pick traits. Every hire closes one random sealed case, so the cases left always match the sleuths left. The ETH goes straight to the treasury in the same transaction. One sleuth per wallet: cracking a case and hiring both count.

How it works
Read the riddle
A few of the 2,000 cases are open at a time. Each one hints at a place: a viral X post, an NFT website, a contract, a record sale, a news story, a Loot bag, a CryptoPunk, an mfer or a Noun.
Dig
Find the facts the riddle asks for (a word, a token number, a slice of a contract address, a Loot item, a punk's attributes, a seed word) and put them together in the format shown.
Crack it
Type the code. Spaces, dashes and capital letters don't matter. A right code gives you a voucher tied to your wallet, valid for 20 minutes.
Recruit free
Redeem the voucher to recruit a sleuth for gas only. It wears the Solver Medal and its metadata names your case. The next case opens right away.
How many cases are there?
2,000, one for every sleuth, filed in 41 volumes of 49. Only a few cases are open at a time. The moment one is cracked, the next one opens, so the calendar keeps moving.
Some codes are lists. How do I type them?
Separate the items with dashes, like TOP HAT-PIPE-EARRING. Spaces and capitals don't matter. When a case says "any order", the items can go in any order.
How many sleuths can one wallet get?
One. Each wallet can recruit one sleuth, either by cracking a case or by hiring. Once a wallet has its sleuth, the case server and the contract won't give it another.
What happens to a case when someone hires?
There is one case for every sleuth. Each hired sleuth closes one random sealed case on-chain (never one of the open ones), so the cases left always match the sleuths left. Closed cases are crossed out on the calendar and their answers are revealed.
Who wins a case?
The first wallet that redeems a voucher for that case. Several detectives can crack the same code, but only the first claim on-chain recruits the sleuth; after that the case is closed for good and its answer is revealed.
Can the team cheat or change answers?
No. Before the hunt opened, every answer was salted and committed on-chain as a Merkle root, which can be locked forever. Once a case is cracked, its answer and salt are published and anyone can press "Verify on-chain" to check them against the contract.
Why can't I just guess?
Codes are checked by the case server, which limits how many guesses a wallet and a connection can make per minute. Answers are never sent to your browser before a case is cracked.
What if somebody copies my code?
Vouchers are signed for one wallet. Copying your code or your transaction does nothing for anyone else.
What does hiring cost and where does it go?
0.001 ETH per sleuth plus gas. The ETH is forwarded to the treasury inside the same transaction; the contract never holds funds. Resales carry a 5% royalty to the treasury.
Is the art really on-chain?
Yes. The pixel parts and the 2,000 trait sets live in contract code and every image and its metadata are built on-chain. The website renders the exact same bytes.
